A Conversation With Frank Bliss

Frank Bliss, Owner, Bliss Manufacturing Company

Biography

Frank Bliss is third generation owner of Bliss Manufacturing – a jewelry/tool and die making company based in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Leading the company for the past 40 years, Frank Bliss spent a good amount of that time as a road warrior traveling throughout the United States and Canada. His wife, Jane, ran the office, production and assembly. Known for cultivating and nurturing long-term relationships with retailers throughout the United States and abroad, he considers his family of retailers not only as partners in business but as family.

Early in the business, Bliss specialized in jewelry made from inexpensive materials and sold in bulk. Over the years, Frank Bliss grew the product line to more than 3,000 different style pendants. Today, the company is known and respected for its detail and fine craftsmanship. A majority of the jewelry made at Bliss Manufacturing is in precious metals.

A proponent of technology, Frank continues to invest in the latest software and hardware to give his employees the best tools available to quickly react to changes in the industry. Employees regularly attend seminars, workshops and training programs, particularly at Bryant University – the country’s leading business school.

“The key to our success is our employees. Each person realizes how import they are to our whole organization. Respect and appreciation are crucial to how we operate. Customers and associates describe our flow as ‘Poetry in motion.’”

Bliss Manufacturing is the umbrella company for Bliss Tool and Die, Bliss Realty and Unique Medal and Badge (a company specifically created to address the needs of religious shrines and missions)
