Dr. Mark Goulston stops by Good Day LA. He is a psychiatrist, business consultant and coach. He is the author of the best selling book "Just Listen," where he teaches pepole to discover the secret to getting through to absolutely anyone.
He is hosting a convention this week in Irvine called Heartfelt Leadership, where is is teaching people to become better leaders.
Dr. Mark Says there are three basic steps to becoming a better leader.
- Number one: think of someone who stood up for you, stood by you and stood up to you to make you a better person (and help you develop the parts of you that you are most proud of).
- Number two: Dr. Mark Says Connect with them or next of kin and give them a Power Thank you (they can get the three parts of it from your site - a) thank them for what they did; b) appreciate them for the effort they made on their part to help you; c) what it personally meant and means to you.
- The third step, Dr. Mark Says once a month take a long walk and ask yourself - "Am I on track to not only what I want in and want to do in life, but to who I could be and what I could do in my life - and just listen, and you might discover a calling as I did with Heartfelt Leadership.
